Today: integrate and test

The Todis API already verifies European digital identity proofs in both standard formats (SD-JWT VC and mdoc), either through a direct call or through a complete OpenID4VP session flow that Todis orchestrates for you. Automatic issuer resolution against the EU's official trust registries (LOTL) already works for SD-JWT VC. You can build your integration, test it with test wallets and pilot programs, and put it into production as soon as your users have a real wallet: nothing to rebuild on your side in between.

The big milestone: national wallets opening

EU regulation sets a deadline of December 24, 2026 for every member state to have an operational relying-party register and at least one eIDAS 2.0 wallet available to its citizens. That's the milestone that turns a test wallet into a real user, facing your application. Todis is tracking this timeline closely, country by country, and will register as soon as the system opens in its jurisdiction. Your integration, meanwhile, has nothing to wait for: it keeps working exactly as before, with real wallets in place of test wallets.

Next: broadening what Todis can verify

Beyond age and access control, the digital wallet ecosystem will carry far more than identity documents: diplomas, professional qualifications, sector-specific credentials. The same verification mechanics apply to any standard digital credential, not just identity: that's the natural direction once today's foundation is proven in production.
